In the CXO Breakfast, Mr Chia Wee Boon, Chief Operating Officer of NCS, will provide an overview of NCS cloud computing projects, and share its experience on collaborating with public cloud service providers. You are also given the opportunity to hear from three distinguished panel speakers, Dr Chew Tat Leong (National Technology Officer, Microsoft), Dr Teow-Hin Ngair (CEO, SecureAge) and Mr Stuart McIrvine (Lead Architect, Cloud Portfolio Strategy, IBM), discussing with us on Security and Privacy issues with Public Cloud. Mr Lim Swee Cheang, Director of ISS, will be the moderator for this event.

This CXO Breakfast is an invitation-only event.  Attendance is managed by ITMA.



Biodata of Chia Wee Boon

Mr Chia Wee Boon was appointed NCS' Chief Operations Officer (COO) on 1 June 2009. As COO, Mr Chia provides leadership to all of NCS' businesses and sales functions in Singapore, and globally.

Mr Chia was most recently Senior Vice-President for Worldwide Alliance Sales in the Technology Solutions Group sales organization for HP where he was responsible for effectively engaging and leveraging Systems Integrators and Outsourcers globally. In this role, based in Palo Alto, Mr Chia led a global team responsible for growing HP's business with Accenture, BearingPoint, Capgemini, Deloitte, Infosys, KPMG, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Tata Consultancy Group, Wipro, and other Systems Integrators and Outsourcers.

Mr Chia began his career in HP in 1982 as a systems engineer. Since then, he has accumulated experience across HP's diverse business units and has also held a series of senior positions in the company, including Senior Vice President for Sales in the Technology Solutions Group, Asia-Pacific & Japan (APJ), Senior Vice President of the APJ Customer Solutions Group, Vice President of the APJ Customer Support Business and Managing Director of HP Singapore and South East Asia.

Biodata of Lim Swee Cheang

Swee Cheang has been instrumental in leading ISS education and consulting programmes since 1984. He currently sits on the Advisory Committee of Republic Polytechnic and Nanyang Polytechnic and NSL Ltd's (formally known as Natsteel Ltd) Corporate Research and Development Advisory Panel. He was on various national committees, including serving in the Singapore Government Economic Review Committee Working Group on ICT and chairing the NICF Working Group in the National Infocomm Competency Council. He was also a former board member of LTA.

Swee Cheang first started as a senior data and database management consultant at International Computers Ltd (ICL, UK) and British Gas. While working for ICL, he was a consultant to Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, J Sainsbury, Guinness, ICL Australia and Heinz. Swee Cheang was awarded the Singapore Public Service Medal in 2009.

Biodata of Dr. Chew Tat Leong

As National Technology Officer (NTO), Tat Leong is responsible for engaging current and next generation policy makers on technology trends and policy. He drives Microsoft’s efforts to promote the use of innovative technologies for the community.

Tat Leong has 21 years of working experience. Prior to joining Microsoft, Tat Leong was previously Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Renault Retail Group (RRG), Paris, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Renault-Nissan. At Renault, he worked on IT systems across all domains of car manufacturing, from assembly line, production planning, car sales and distribution. Before France, Tat Leong was in Singapore where he worked on the Port of Singapore Authority’s ship and yard planning project for which he received the National Science and Technology Award in 1993.

Biodata of Dr. Ngair Teow-Hin

Dr. Ngair spent 13 years as a researcher in Kent Ridge Digital Labs (KRDL, now known as Institute for Infocomm Research)  As a Senior Member of Research Staff, he was engaged in R&D works and innovative commercial product development on information security, multi-lingual computing and Artificial Intelligence.

He founded SecureAge Technology in 2003 to focus on creating and commercializing innovative data security solutions.  These solutions are now successfully deployed by various governments and large enterprises in the Asia Pacific region.

Dr Ngair has a PhD in Computer science (Univ. of Pennsylvania, USA) and MA, BA in Mathematics (Cambridge, UK).

Biodata of Stuart McIrvine

Stuart McIrvine has been with IBM for 20 years and is currently the lead architect for the IBM Cloud portfolio strategy. In this role, Stuart is responsible for the technical strategy around IBM's Cloud portfolio of products and services. He works across the hardware, software and services business units to ensure each IBM organization aligns with the overall cloud strategy and the relevant cloud architectures. Prior to this role Stuart was the Director of Market Management for Tivoli Software's Emerging Markets and prior to that he was the Director for the IBM Corporate Security Strategy.

During his career, Stuart has held many Marketing positions in IBM's Software Group in areas including; Networking & Security, Business Integration and Portals. Stuart started with IBM as an engineer and spent 6 years in both hardware engineering and software engineering.

Stuart has an undergraduate degree in Electronic Systems and Microcomputer Engineering and an MBA.
